How to Register for Classes

Send email registrations to disastertrain@arcbadger.org. Please include the name and date of the course you are registering for. You will receive an email confirming your registration within two business days.

By Telephone
To register by phone, call 1-877-618-6628, ext. 254. When leaving a voicemail please include with your name, phone number, course name and course date you are registering for. You will receive confirmation on your registration within two business days.

By Mail
To register by mail, send your completed registration form to:

In Person
During regular office hours, you can bring in your registration request and leave it with any Disaster Services staff member. They will ensure your registration for the specified course.
Via the Learning Management System (LMS):
Badger Chapter volunteers with a LMS Student IDs and password can register online through LMS. Once you log in, click on the Catalog link on the left side of the screen. Then click on Disaster Courses in the Course Category box. This will show currently scheduled Badger Chapter classroom courses. To obtain your Student ID and password, contact disastertrain@arcbadger.org

Please Note that a 5898H – Participant Registration form is required for all Intermediate and Advanced Disaster Services classes. We must receive these forms 6 weeks in advance.

Disaster Services classes are offered in the following settings:
Traditional Classroom setting
Self-Study at home
Online Learning
Blended Learning – a combination of the following:
Self-study and classroom setting
Online and classroom setting

No. You need to be a registered volunteer with the Badger Chapter or another Red Cross chapter.

Yes! Student packets and course material are based on the number of people registered for a course. Additionally, students who are not registered will not receive notification if a course is cancelled. Admittance of non pre-registered students is at the discretion of the instructor.

Yes. When we receive your registration request, we will send out an email or voicemail confirming your registration in the class. If there is a problem with your registration, (class is full, prerequisites not met), we will contact you by email or phone.

Approximately 3 business days before a scheduled class, registered students will receive an email or telephone reminder for that class. The reminder will include the name of the course, date, time and location.

Yes. Most of our classes include video segments, group discussion and skills practice. You will learn more and have more fun by fully participating in the learning environment.

The Badger Chapter reserves the right to cancel or reschedule classes due to insufficient enrollment or the instructor becoming unavailable. If this occurs, registered students will receive email or telephone notification prior to the class. The Badger Chapter reserves the right to cancel classes due to inclement weather. In the unlikely event that your class is cancelled, we will make every attempt to place you the next available class. If you are unsure of whether a class will be held, please call us.
