International Services   

Together for humanityIn accordance with the Fundamental Principles of the International Red Cross Movement, the American Red Cross shares a unity of purpose and vision with Red Cross and Red Crescent organizations encircling the globe, including the International Committee of the Red Cross, the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies, 183 recognized national societies.

 

The members of the International Red Cross Movement work together toward common goals during times of crisis or disaster. Programs are designed to meet ever-changing humanitarian needs and improve the human condition. The American Red Cross supports humanitarian relief work worldwide and provides relief services for both natural and man-made disasters, including armed conflicts.

 

At the American Red Cross- Badger Chapter we are part of the global network. We promote the fundamental principles of International Humanitarian Law, encourage the teaching of Exploring Humanitarian Law, as well as provide services to the local community following a disaster. 

 

Services Provided by the International Movement

Sending Red Cross Messages between separated family members, civilians, prisoners of war and political detainees.

 

Obtaining information about the fate of civilians, especially those separated during the Holocaust and World War II.

 

Processing international disaster welfare inquiries when normal communications are disrupted.

 

Providing information and referral services following a disaster.

 

Securing ICRC travel documents for people who have been offered permanent resettlement
