Celebration of Support
The Celebration of Support event is held each year to thank our major financial donors, whose support allows us to continue our programs and services.
The 2009 event was held on Thursday, October 15 at 5:30 at the UW Arboretum in Madison.
The Celebration of Support's keynote speaker was Senator Fred Risser. Senator Risser is the second longest serving legislator in US political history and the longest in Wisconsin history. He is also the 4th generation of his family to serve as a part of the Wisconsin Senate.

During the Celebration of Support, Senator Risser presented Steven DiTullio with the Risser Award, which is presented to an individual who is an effective leader and who has supported and strengthened the Badger Chapter through time and expertise. The Risser Award was created to honor Senator Risser's mother, Elizabeth Risser, who was a devout volunteer of the American Red Cross.

During the Celebration of Support, Steven DiTullio recieved the Risser Award and was recognized for his exceptional work with the American Red Cross and for his significant contributions, including years of service and support. From 2002-2008, DiTullio was on the American Red Cross Badger Chapter's Board of Directors and he has been a past chair for the HR Committee and the Nominations Committee. DiTullio has also provided legal counsel to the American Red Cross.

The Spirit of Annual Giving Award was given to the Fort Community Credit Union in recognition of the organization's strong support of the American Red Cross Blood Services. Throughout the year the Fort Atkinson community holds six blood drives. Since the start of 2009, over 600 pints of blood have been collected thanks in part to the support of the Fort Community Credit Union.
Bonnie Sonnenberg, a representative of the Fort Community Credit Union, accepted the award at the Celebration of Support on behalf of the Fort Community Credit Union.
